SUMMIT, NJ - Girls and Boys Lacrosse Team members Cecily Stabler and Will Vitton have been honored as Summit High School Athletes of the Week, presented by TAPinto Summit, for the week ending May 7.

Each week throughout the school athletic year, an athlete or athletes will be honored for distinguishing themselves in the arena of competition, in the classroom, and for demonstrating exemplary, Hilltopper-caliber sportsmanship and leadership qualities.

Stabler is a three-sport varsity athlete and captain (soccer, ice hockey and lacrosse) and has been an important member of the defending state champion lacrosse team. She has evidenced leadership both on and off the field, scoring a pair of goals in The Maroon and White's semifinal Union County Tournament win, and was critical in the Hilltoppers gaining possession as part of their comeback in the final.

In goal, Vitton has anchored the defensive unit for the Summit Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team, accumulating 104 saves over the course of the season while backstopping the Hilltoppers into the Union County Final. The junior consistently delivers big saves at key points within games, changing not only possession but also often the contest's momentum.
