SUMMIT, NJ - Celgene Corporation has completed its purchase of the former Merck & Co., Inc. property located at 556 Morris Ave. The property features 850,000 square feet of administrative office space, and 450,000 square feet of Research & Development space.

The acquisiton by Summit-headquartered Celgene, an integrated, global pharmaceutical company, extends the company’s existing Hilltop City presence beyond its 86 Morris Ave. global headquarters location.  

Combined with the completion of construction of a new 550,000-squar- foot office building at its 86 Morris Ave. location, the purchase allows Celgene to concentrate its New Jersey operations at two campuses in close proximity in Summit.

The 556 Morris Ave. site includes research and development facilities, laboratory and support buildings, manufacturing capabilities, storage, warehouse buildings, and administrative office space.

Merck announced it was leaving Summit in October, 2013 to consolidate its operations in Kenilworth.
