SUMMIT, NJ - The 2020 prep gymnastics season was postponed by the NJSIAA from the fall to a newly-created 'third season', scheduled to take place from February through April 2021. The postponement was especially disappointing locally as the Summit High School Gymnastics Team was coming off their best season in program history, finishing second in Union County and third in the highly-competitive North II Section in 2019.

The 2020-21 squad also features a group of seniors who had been looking forward to a big finish to their high school gymnastics careers. But, while the traditional timing of their fearless flipping and flying all over the state to compete for championships has been changed, the Hiltoppers took the opportunity to put their team-building skills and energies to good use for a great cause.

Team members participated in 'Handstands for Hunger', with each girl collecting boxes of cereal and then posing in a handstand with their donations. Together, the team was able to donate more than 50 boxes of cereal to the Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry at St. Teresa of Avila Church.
