SUMMIT, NJ - Cheryl Silver has been hired to serve as editor of CivicStory, a nonprofit news site and producer of short videos highlighting sustainability and creative change in New Jersey cities and beyond. CivicStory's stated mission is to advance solutions-based news about citizens transforming communities. 

Silver, who will begin her tenure July 2, will work with newsmakers and news leaders throughout New Jersey to tell stories of people and organizations changing their communities in significant ways. She is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, a resident of South Orange and a native of the Midwest, Silver received a regional Edward R. Murrow award for a radio piece with Illinois Public Media.
