SUMMIT, NJ - The City will be undertaking a project to improve Ashwood Avenue and Ashwood Court, with work comprised of sidewalk and curb replacement in select, necessary locations, drainage improvements for Ashwood Court, and paving. The City expects to award the project to the lowest bidder on May 17.

In keeping with City policy, the Engineering Division has scheduled a public meeting with the owners of all properties impacted by the proposed project. This meeting will be an open house, and has been scheduled for March 30, from 4 - 7 p.m., in the Whitman Conference Room, located on the second floor at City Hall.

Mapping of the proposed project will be on display, and representatives of the Engineering Division will be present to discuss the project specifics. Those not able to attend the meeting who have questions are directed to contact City Engineer Aaron Schrager at 908-273-6404.

Curbside Leaf Collection Begins April 4

The Division of Public Works will collect bagged leaves on regularly scheduled garbage pickup days beginning April 4 through April 29.. Leaves must be placed in biodegradable brown bags and placed at the curb. Residents may also bring leaves to the Summit Transfer Station, located at 40 New Providence Road.  Leaves collected in the spring and fall are composted and are made available to the public in the spring for use on lawns and in gardens.
