SUMMIT, NJ - Track and Field's Claudia Piron and Will Robertson have been honored as Summit High School Athletes of the Week, presented by TAPinto Summit, for the week ending May 28.

Each week throughout the school athletic year, an athlete or athletes will be honored for distinguishing themselves in the arena of competition, in the classroom, and for demonstrating exemplary, Hilltopper-caliber sportsmanship and leadership qualities.

Both Piron and Robertson validated the adage that 'Fast is Faster' with stellar performances at the recently-concluded NJSIAA North 2, Group 3 Sectionals at Madison High School.

PIron took first place in the 100m, 200m and was part of The Maroon and White's Gold Medal-winning 4x100m relay team. That unit''s first-to-the-tape performance set a meet record. She also took second place in the 400m.

Robertson delivered a Silver Medal-winning performance in the 800m and set a school record in the process. He also placed fifth in the 400m and was a member of the fifth place 4x400m relay team.

Piron and Robertson are two of 14 Summit Track and Field team members to advance to the NJSIAA Group 3 Finals, which will be held June 2-3 at Northern Burlington County Regional High School.

5/15 - Sean M. Reidy, 52, of Summit was arrested on a contempt of court warrant out of Summit. Mr. Reidy was able to post bail and released with a pending court date.

5/18 - At 1615 hours a report was taken for a theft from a Springfield Avenue business. The incident occurred at approximately 1031 hours when a white female entered the business and removed a blue Ramy Brook Blouse from a rack.
