A Hilltopper-sized tent -- serving as the Summit High School Football Team's 'outdoor locker room' -- now sits just outside the fieldhouse at Tatlock Park. To enhance the health safety for all members of the program, the team's coaches are limiting the numbers of players inside the fieldhouse locker room to four at a time, making the outdoor space both a necessity and utility.
Team parents, alumni and other supporters funded the structure, with a refurbished tent costing a fraction of a standard version.
While the Summit Football Alumni Association has made significant progress toward its fundraising goal, additional costs -- such as extra buses, PPE (neck gaiters) for the players and new equipment -- means there is still is a ways to go.
