Continuo Arts Music Conservatory Grand Open House Sept. 25

New Conservatory of Music Opening in Summit.

The Continuo Arts Foundation opens its new headquarters at 36 Chatham Road in Summit on September 25, from 3 - 5 p.m.. The new facility includes office space, rehearsal hall,  and teaching studios for the new music conservatory.

“We are very excited to launch the Continuo Arts Conservatory and expand our musical offerings and outreach to local artists across greater New Jersey,” said Candace Wicke, Executive Director and Principal Conductor. “The public is invited to our Grand Open House on September 25. There will be performances, giveaways, raffles, refreshments, mini-classes and more.”

Recently seen on the Paper Mill Playhouse stage performing the world premiere of Disney’s “Hunchback of Notre Dame,” the Continuo Arts Choral programs are the most comprehensive intergenerational offerings in New Jersey.  Renowned not only throughout the greater Tri-State Area, Continuo Arts ensembles are also often seen on national stages of note including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Music Center at Strathmore, as well as international and historic venues around the world.

In 2014 Continuo became the first organization from the United States to present a concert in the Sistine Chapel, and will return this fall to Rome for a performance on the prestigious Festival Pro Musica e Arte Sacra.

Choral opportunities at Continuo include Children’s, Intermediate Girls, Advanced Girls and Boys, Adult, Young Professional and Senior Choirs. There is a place for everyone in the family! Rehearsals begin September 12 and 13, and the public is invited to come Sit-in-and-Sing!

The Schedule is as follows:  Monday - Seniors Sing! 10:30 - 11:30 a.m., Advanced Girls and Boys 7:30 - 9 p.m.; Tuesday - Children 4:30-5:30 p.m., Intermediate Girls 5:30 - 7 p.m., Adults 7:30 - 9 p.m., and Young Professionals 9 - 9:30 p.m.
