Peaches are low in calories, high in fiber: and rich in antioxidants, such as Vitamins A & C... they are also the centerpiece of the next "Best Dish" competition at the Summit Farmers Market August 2.
SUMMIT, NJ - The fruit with the fuzzy skin will be the centerpiece of another amateur cook-off, as amateur chefs and bakers are invited to heed the call and bring their best peach dish to the Summit Farmers Market August 2.
All dishes must be submitted by 10:30 a.m., and will be judged on three categories: taste, creative use of peaches, and appearance. Those planning to bring their dish in reusable serving ware, are reminded to attach a label on the bottom of the dish with their name and phone number.
The public will be able to sample the entries after they have been judged at approximately 11 a.m., with all dishes available for pick up between 12:30 and 1 p.m.
