SUMMIT, NJ - Families from the Congregation Ohr Shalom - Summit Jewish Community Center, working under the direction of trailmaster Jeff Hankinson, tackled projects on the Passaic River trails.
The group painted the trailhead kiosk, re-decked a wooden bridge, spread a mountain of wood chips, cleared a large area of invasive plants near the river, re-seated stepping stones and supports in a stream, made a rock crossing over a muddy section of the trail, and picked up garbage and broken glass.
Jonathan Sacks organized the group, with to Environmental Commission member Judy Mandelbaum handling logistics, including project timing, tasks and supplies.
