NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - The 150-racer strong 2018 Clearwater Swim Team completed another triumphant season July 29, winning both the dual meet trophy -- by defeating all five of its league opponents in weekly dual meets -- and then scoring a commanding victory in the All-Team league Championship.
The final rankings at the All-Team Meet had Clearwater nearly 100 points ahead of runner-up Crestview Swim Team. Minisink Swim Club of Chatham rounded out the podium in third place.
Other teams in the Town & Country Swim League, the oldest recorded continuous summer swim league in the United states, are Fish & Game of Chatham, Noe Pond Club, of Chatham, and the Berkeley Swim Club of Berkeley Heights.
The 2018 season is the 11th consecutive year that the Dolphins swept both the dual meet and championship competitions, furthering a proud tradition of including all levels of swimmers from novices through nationally ranked swimmers, and chalking many victories with swimmers aged 6-18.
During the season, several new records were set by Clearwater swimmers, including:
Richard Fadeev - Boys' 9/10 50M backstroke
Juliet Ho - Girls' 9/10 25M breaststroke
Dylan Ingerman - Boys 15/18 50M butterfly (also a league record)
The Dolphins were lead by coaches Abby Claus (Summit High School, Class of '17), Kevin Gettings (Summit High School, Class of '17), Annie Keenan (Oak Knoll School, Class of '19) and Dylan Ingerman (Summit High School, Class '18), all current and former swimmers from the Clearwater ranks.
