I am proud to endorse Marjorie Fox for Councilwoman, Ward II. Ward II includes the Jefferson, Brayton, and Franklin elementary school districts.
I have known Marjorie since 2006 and have witnessed firsthand her ability to make a positive difference for our community. Simply put, Marjorie takes a rigorous approach to analysis. In today’s world of fast-moving information, we need leaders who are able to take a step back, think deeply about issues, and understand the long-term implications for our community rather than scoring sound bites. Marjorie’s training as an attorney, her experience working in the New York City government, and her record in Summit City Hall give her the perspective necessary to responsibly steward our community.
For over a decade, I have watched Marjorie take on leadership roles that have shaped Summit. Anyone who has benefited from Summit's parks or participated in one of Summit's Earth Day clean-ups in the past 11 years has been positively impacted by Marjorie's leadership in launching Summit's Earth Day Clean-Up Celebration. Things we today take for granted are a product of Marjorie's determination and work-ethic.
Marjorie’s devotion to Summit is exemplified by the impact she has had on others through Summit's volunteer organizations. She will hit the ground running on important environmental and infrastructure issues. She will make us all proud in making Summit a better place.
