Fairtax-ers had a stand at the annual Summit Fourth of July celebration on Monday, July 5, 2010 at Memorial Field from 10 to 1. Appropriately, we were located between the Democrats and the Republicans.

Summit resident Mary Bitting and I handed out 35 pocket cards over the three-hour period. On the hot day, foot traffic was moderate to brisk. Several people stopped. Two left contact information and one, an actuary, engaged in conversation for over 15 minutes. Another gentleman wanted to know how the FairTax was progressive, and he appeared to leave satisfied.

The objective was mostly to have a presence and remind people of the FairTax, and I was satisfied that the objective was reached.
