FC Motown Clinches Playoff Spot; Club Currently Ranked Number-Two Out of 98 Teams Nationally

MORRISTOWN – Sitting on the maximum 21 points in seven games played, FC Motown – the National Premier Soccer League club that plays its home games at Drew University – is onward to the national NPSL playoffs this fall.

“Our team is rolling now and it is nice to clinch a playoff spot this early", said Coach Sacir Hot.  "It is important that we attack the rest of the regular season as one slip up could have major travel implications for the national playoffs.”

Playing its first season as a Morristown based club, FC Motown has climbed up to second in the NPSL national rankings, only trailing the New York Cosmos B squad. In seven matches, the team has racked up 29 goals for while only conceding two.

In the 2018 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, FC Motown advanced to the second round of the nation-wide tournament by defeating the New York Red Bulls U-23 squad, 2-1.They would ultimately fall to Penn FC of Harrisburg, PA in the next round.

"It was a pleasure to play in front of an engaged fan base", said Julius James.  "The club needs more fans and the combination of the on field product and beautiful Drew campus should eventually get us there”.
