Flipping Out: Connection Adds New Gymnastics Programming to 2018 Summer Camp Schedule

SUMMIT, NJ - The Connection, known for its year-round gymnastics programs and summer camps -- and home to the Summit Summies and Summit High School Girls Gymnastics Teams -- will be expanding their summer 2018 gym camp offerings to include 'Warrior Boot Camp', 'Jr. Warrior', 'Mini Cheer', 'Acro-Tumbling', and 'Advanced Gym'.

“We're excited for another year of gym camps. Every year, we look forward to having gymnasts of all abilities come and experience what our year-round gymnastics program is like,” says Cassi Mendez, Gym Camp Director. “This year we are eager to expand our program and our offerings for coed classes like 'Jr. Warrior' and 'Warrior Boot Camp'. With the addition of new warrior styled equipment for older campers, we are able to extend our reach and provide great programming for a new audience."

Camp offerings will include:

Sign Up for E-News

Morning Gym Camps – 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

- Elite+ Gym - girls ages 8+ - For older campers with previous gymnastics experience. Continue to work on your skills on all apparatuses and spend the day with your favorite instructors and friends. Free swim offered daily.

- Advanced Gym - girls ages 12+ - Advanced-level camp for girls with previous competitive experience. Focus will be on skill improvement and progression on all apparatuses along with strength, flexibility and endurance. Perfect opportunity for high school pre-training.

- Warrior Boot Camp - coed ages 8+ - Designed specifically for older campers, offering both fitness & challenges. Warrior-specific equipment will be used with ropes, tumble track and gymnastics equipment. Free swim offered daily.

- Acro Tumbling - coed ages 8+ - This camp is dedicated to combining tumbling and dance to further develop strength & flexibility along with acrobatic skills. Floor exercise and tumble track will be used. Free swim offered daily.

Afternoon Gym Camps – 1 - 4:30 p.m.

- Elite+ Gym - girls ages 8+ - For older campers with previous gymnastics experience. Continue to work on your skills on all apparatuses and spend the day with your favorite instructors and friends. Free swim offered daily.

- Jr. Warrior - coed ages 4 – 7 - Action packed from start to finish. Campers will use specifically designed warrior challenge course equipment, gymnastic equipment, climbing rope, and tumble track. Free swim daily.

- Mini Cheer - girls ages 4-7 - Young athletes in this camp will be given an introduction to cheerleading–learning basic motions, jumps, dance, and tumbling in a fun and safe environment.  Free swim offered daily.

Acro Tumbling  - coed ages 8+ - This camp is dedicated to combining tumbling and dance to further develop strength & flexibility along with acrobatic skills. Floor exercise and tumble track will be used. Free swim offered daily.

- Jr. Girls Gym - girls ages 4-7 - Perfect for beginner to advanced gymnasts, combining instruction on vault, uneven bars, balance beam, floor, and tumble track in our state-of-the-art facility. Free swim offered daily.

Other camp options include 'SummerFun', theater, STEM, sports, cooking, art, fashion, robotics, digital media, travel, and more. The Connection’s Summer Camps run from June 25 - August 24. Families can choose any week or weeks that best fit their summer schedule.

For all-day care, “Sunrisers” (7:30 - 9 a.m.) is a great option for those needing an early drop-off. Campers will be escorted by staff to their appropriate camp. 'Campers Club (4:30 - 6 p.m.) is the ideal way to wrap up the day with a quiet afternoon that may include board games, drawing, arts and crafts and outdoor play.
