After years of cultivating a local business and following, Halfpapp and DeVito were eager to bring a life-changing fitness experience to a broader audience. In 2000, a Lotte Berk student, Annbeth Eschbach, approached Fred and Elisabeth with a ground-breaking concept: merging authentic, result-producing fitness classes with holistic spa therapies and energetic healing programs.
This concept already had a name: exhale. Halfpapp and DeVito believed in Eschbach’s vision and developed Core Fusion, an innovative, modernized technique with foundations based on the Lotte Berk Method. The first exhale mind body spa opened its doors in New York in 2002, and has since debuted 20 locations in the U.S. and Turks and Caicos.
