Four on Summit Y's Swim Team Rank Nationally

The Summit Area Y is proud to announce four swimmers, participants of the Summit Y Seals Swim Team, who through their hard work and dedicated training are nationally ranked swimmers for 2010.  Colby Dixon, Loring Bowen, Liza MacCowatt and Kathleen Miszkiewicz are all swimmers who have placed in the top ten times nationally for YMCA swim teams across the country during 2010.

Colby Dixon placed 9th nationally in the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 30.96. Dixon was also a three time New Jersey YMCA state champion in 2010; in addition he broke eight team age group records.

Loring Bowen placed 4th nationwide in the 200 men’s butterfly with a time of 1:56.58.  Bowen, a Star-Ledger first team Union county pick for the 100 fly, also won the 100 fly at the Big Blue invitational meet at Pingry School this year.

Liza MacCowatt placed 9th nationwide in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 32.82. Liza also set three new team records in the 50,100 and 200 breaststroke events.

Kathleen Miszkiewicz placed 8th nationally in the 200 yard backstroke in 2:06.38. In addition she also broke 2 team records in the 100 and 200 backstroke.  Miszkiewicz also won those same two events at the Sunkissed National Invitational Meet in Charlotte, South Carolina, in 2010. She also qualified for the YMCA nationals in the 100 and 200 backstroke as a 13 year old.
