SUMMIT, NJ - The Friends of the Summit Free Public Library Giant Jewelry Sale will be held April 27 and 28 at the Summit Free Public Library. Shoppers will be greeted by a huge selection of both fine and costume jewelry. with all proceeds benefiting the Friends, an organization which provides funding supporting myriad Library programs and activities for adults, children and teens alike.
Sale dates are times are:
Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Sunday, April 28, from 1 - 4 p.m.
This year’s sale will include a ‘Fine Jewelry Boutique’ featuring 14K and 18K gold, sterling silver, diamond and sapphire jewelry, and more. For those not in the market for fine jewelry, there will be women’s and men’s jewelry starting for as low as one dollar. There will also be men’s and women’s watches, many with new batteries courtesy of Schroth & Lorenson Jewelers, which also donated their expertise in appraising the fine jewelry.
Costume jewelry -- ranging from the weird to the wonderful -- and beautiful vintage pieces will be offered for sale as well.
On Sunday, April 28, from 2 - 3 p.m., the public is invited to take a musical journey with vocalist Stan Edwards, who will sing GRAMMY-winning songs from the first decade of the GRAMMYs. In this musical tribute, Edwards will entertain with such memorable, award-winning songs such as Mack the Knife, Volaré, I Left My Heart in San Francisco, and Moon River. The performance is made possible in part by the NJ State Council on the Arts through a grant administered by the Union County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs.
The Friends of the Summit Free Public Library support many popular Library initiatives and enhancements, including the Museum Pass program, new furniture in the adult section, a Scratch programming class for kids on 'NJ Makers Day', and 'Monday at the Movies'.
