SUMMIT, NJ - The Reverend Kay Locke of Calvary Episcopal Church in Summit has a long history with SAGE Eldercare dating back to when she was in her 30’s and new to Summit, during which time she delivered Meals on Wheels to older adults in the community.

Now 80, Locke uses the SAGE Furniture Restoration Workshop for furniture repairs, including a favorite antique she bought at a church rummage sale. “I didn’t want to refinish the whole thing because I like the old patina,” she said. “And they did the most amazing job. It’s perfect.”

The piece was worked on by Bob McAnally of New Providence. McAnally has been a volunteer with the Workshop since 2002 as well as a former volunteer with Meals on Wheels and the SAGE shopping service. According to McAnally, who is 77, many of the projects brought to the Workshop, like the Reverend’s, are sentimental pieces.
