SUMMIT, NJ - For the second consecutive year, the Summit Department of Community Programs will provide residents the opportunity to channel their inner Hans Brinker, Wayne Gretzky or even Torvill and Dean, when a full day of recreational ice skating is again held right in the heart of the City.
The site, the Elm Street Parking Lot -- located behind the Village Green-- remains the same as in 2015, with the 'rink' open for half-day sessions December 11 from 3:30 - 7 p.m.
In addition to skating, the event will feature food trucks, bonfires, music and pictures with Santa. An Ice Sculptor will be on site, carving a life-size replica of Family Aquatic Center Head Lifeguard, 'Shark Diddy', which will be revealed at 7 p.m.
The free ice-stravaganza is sponsored by lululemon, with event attendees invited to bring their own skates, or skates will be provided for use at no cost.
