Fun to Spare: Stryxe Rolls Out Thursday Happy Hours

STRYXE, recently opened in Madison, has debuted a Thursday night 'Happy Hour,' from 5 - 8 p.m., featuring half-price draughts, $5 wine by the glass, and food specials.

STRYXE has redefined what consumers think of in a bowling alley. Of course, all of the essentials -- including food and beer -- are there, but the entire experience has been elevated, positioning STRYXE as a mega-entertainment destination.

By intention, the new space holds an appeal to several different market segments -- including families, adults and corporate clientele -- as the concept has been designed to be offer an environment where patrons can come not just to bowl, but to relax, have fun and enjoy themselves.

Two large, U-shaped bars flank either end of the space, serving craft brews on tap as well as signature cocktails.

Clientele can eat gourmet comfort food and drink craft cocktails anywhere throughout the facility, including by two indoor fireplaces.

The venue has 20 bowling lanes, an interactive arcade and classic parlor games including pool tables and shuffleboard. All amusements leverage a pre-paid card that is reloadable and stores points earned. Points can be redeemed for merchandise right at guest services

Perfectly suited to its handcrafted concept, STRYXE features a wood-fired pizza oven. By the pizza bar, one will find Master Pizzaiolo, Nicolo Fazio, making signature 'La Tabisca' which is a unique pizza style originating in Sciacca, Sicily, that is characterized by its hand-crafted oblong shape and fire-cooked wheat crust.

The new space is not only conducive to a great night out for families and adults, but was designed for corporate events and large private parties. Spacious private rooms equipped with audio-visual presentation equipment are available for a meeting or event throughout the facility.

A goal of ownership is to "draw in both corporations and local businesses who want an easy and unique place to hold a meeting or team building event." Parties can claim some or all of a given private space, with the overall design geared toward flexibility and high technology capabilities.

STRYXE is located at 300 Main Street in Madison. It is open seven days a week and, for further information, visit stryxe.com or call 973-377-8919.

Why You Don’t Want to Outperform This Market!

The market’s off to a great start for 2017, with the S&P 500 up 7.9%. Not too many investors are trumpeting their outperformance. That may be a good thing for those underperformers.

What?  It’s not good to be beating the market? When a market is this narrow and concentrated, outperformance may be inconsistent with every important investing tenet.

New Role, Familiar Face: Thornton Promoted to Assistant General Manager of Historic Hotel

Continuity.

In most chain-hotels the concept is virtually extinct. In fact, many national brands -- as a practice -- intentionally rotate their senior management and managers from property to property which, while it may have its benefits, it is certainly far from prototypical for customers who have to adjust to new contacts, faces, personalities and styles.

However, and as now must be ...
