SUMMIT, NJ - Five members of the Summit High School Football Team are preparing to take the next step in both their academic and football careers as they head off to colleges and universities.

The student-athletes and their next-level destinations include:

Jake Froschauer - Colgate University
Two-year starter at quarterback; two-year All Mid-State 38 selection; 2016 Team Captain.

Two-year starter at linebacker; Two-year All Mid-State 38 selection All Group 4, All-Time, Single-Season Tackle record Holder; 2016 Team Captain.

Matt Grange - Carnegie Mellon University
Two-year starter on the offensive line; Two-year All Mid-State 38 selection.

Michael Mahecha - Gettysburg College
Two-year starter on the offensive line; Two-year All Mid-State 38 selection, 2016 Team Captain.

Danny Petrela - University of Dubuque
Two-year starter on the defensive line; Two-year All Mid-State 38 selection.

"This is a great bunch of student-athletes," said Summit Head Football Coach Kevin Kostibos. "In a day and age where there are huge misconceptions about football and many feel the student athlete is a myth, these five young men prove that academics and athletics can go hand-in-hand to create phenomenal people. They will all be incredibly successful no matter what the endeavor. I'm very blessed to have had the opportunity, even in the smallest of ways, to shape them as men."
