Get Teed Off: Noted Golf Instructor Teams with Summit YMCA to Offer Class Program

SUMMIT, NJ - Golf is a sport with lifetime skills that can be enjoyed by the entire family, and the Summit Area YMCA has partnered with local golf professional Lou Ruina to offer two separate, four-week instructional programs designed to get golfers of all levels games' in swing.

Ruina has more than 25 years of experience in professional golf and has provided over 20,000 private and group lessons for golfers -- beginner to advanced -- at the driving range and on the course.

Class attendees will learn golf fundamentals including backswing, downswing, and follow-through, through drills and exercises. They will also become familiar with golf rules, etiquette, safety, equipment, history of the game, and golf lingo.

Two sessions are available:

Session 1 - Saturdays, April 9 -  30

1:30 - 3 p.m.

Session 2 - Saturdays, May 14 - June 14

9 - 10:30 a.m.

Classes are open from beginning to intermediates levels, for teens through adults. Minimum class size is four golfers, with sessions limited to a maximum of 12. The fee of $140 covers instruction, range balls and equipment, however golfers that have their own clubs are asked to bring them to class.

The program will be held at the Millburn Township Golf Course, located at 335 White Oak Ridge Road in Short Hills. Appropriate golf attired is required, and rain dates and make-up classes are offered.
