SUMMIT, NJ - Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood, with approximately 36,000 units of red blood cells needed every day in America.
Summit residents and their neighbors from the surrounding communities can do their part to meet this demand by donating at the annual Good Friday Blood Drive held at St. Teresa of Avila Church on April 14, from 1 - 7 p.m.
Anyone 17 and older and weighing at least 110 lbs. can donate. Teens age 16 can donate with a signed parental consent form, which will be available on site.
Appointments are strongly recommended to help manage wait times and flow throughout the day. To schedule an appointment, visit redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code: St Teresa of Avila
Blood donors can save time by using Rapid Pass to complete the pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire prior to arriving at St Teresa’s.
On day of donation, individuals should eat a healthy breakfast, drink extra fluids, and bring a photo identification. For more information, contact the 2017 Blood Drive Coordinator, Gloria M Ron-Fornes at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Good Friday Blood Drive will take place in the Avila Room at St. Teresa of Avila Church, located at 306 Morris Avenue,
