Summit, NJ - Volunteer organization Green Summit has completed a two months-long collection drive of 'hard to recycle items' and has shipped out the collected items from the drive's drop off location at Reeves-Reed Arboretum.
The “hard-to-recycle-items” collection drive gathered 44 clean and dry mascara wands to be reused by North Carolina-based nonprofit Appalachian Wildlife Refuge. The wands will be useful to help remove fly eggs and larva from the fur of animals.
This collection drive also helped to recycle 116 used gift cards and rigid type plastic cards. These will be shipped to an Ohio based company for recycling, creating 100% recycled plastic cards used by retail stores and hotels.
Green Summit plans to host another 'hard-to-recycle' collection drive at the beginning of spring. For more information, contact GreenSummitNJ@gmail.com
