Celebrating the latest round of Summit Educational Foundation (SEF) grants -- nearly $450,000 in the fall of 2016 cycle -- are Summit Board of Education President David Dietze, with Sue Thatch, SEF Assistant Grants Chair, Diana Sajer, SEF Vice President, Amy D'Andrea, SEF Grants Chair, and Irene Murdock, SEF President.
Among the latest announced grants is $335,600 which will fund nearly half of a proposed Summit Public Schools District-wide Greenhouse Project, slated to be located at Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School and designed to “encourage development of S.T.E.A.M. activities in curricula as well as various activities district-wide in grades PK-12. Curriculum integration will be interdisciplinary, beginning with science and electives.”
The SEF fall grants bring the total amount awarded by the Foundation to nearly $3,500,000 since the fall of 2010.
