SUMMIT, NJ - Sophomore Austin Groce, junior Joe Lusardi, and seniors Skyler Schluter and Tyrone Hines have been named the Salerno Duane Summit High School Football Players of the Game for the Hilltoppers 22-9 victory over North Hunterdon.

Groce and Lusardi were stalwarts on defense, with the former credited with an outstanding 14 tackles and the latter delivering both a fumble recovery and an interception. The Maroon and White defense, which has allowed just 17 points over three games this season -- all Summit wins -- kept the North Hunterdon offense at bay until the Hilltopper offense kicked into gear in the fourth quarter and produced the game-winning and insurance touchdowns.

Schluter and Hines had a hand in virtually all of the catalytic offensive plays on the afternoon, with Schluter using his feet to find paydirt twice from just outside the goal line and his arm to connect with Hines on the 30-yard clincher. Hines also had two big catch and runs that set up the Hilltoppers' first two scores.
