SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit Performing Arts Resource Committee (SPARC), the 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1996 with a mission to support performing arts and related initiatives in the Summit Public Schools, is now marketing customized plaques, which will adorn chair arms in one of four seating areas within the Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School (LCJSMS) Auditorium.
The plaques offer an opportunity to honor a current student, alumnus, teacher / staff member, or event. Each 1"x 3" brushed brass plaque is custom inscribed and affixed to the arm of an auditorium chair.
Depending on location, plaques are priced commensurately from $75 - $150 per plaque.
According to SPARC, all proceeds from seat plaque sales will be used by the LCJSMS drama department to make equipment upgrades and improvements to the theater space "for the creation of quality productions for years to come."
The organization further states that amounts paid or contributed in excess of $20 is tax deductible to the amount allowed by law. Donations in excess of $200 will be honored on a plaque in the auditorium.
