SUMMIT, NJ - Summit High School Girls Ice Hockey Team player Teia Ross and Boys Varsity Basketball Team member Wayne White have been honored as Summit High School Athletes of the Week, presented by TAP into Summit, for the week ending January 17.

Each week throughout the school athletic year, an athlete or athletes will be honored for distinguishing themselves in the arena of competition, in the classroom, and for demonstrating exemplary, Hilltopper-caliber sportsmanship and leadership qualities.
Senior defenseman Ross has been dominant all season, highly proficient at both ends of the ice. This season, she became the all-time goal leader for the Hilltopper Girls’ Ice Hockey Team, then broke another record on January 16 versus Oak Knoll scoring a three-goal hat trick and adding three assists for a six-point game, bettering the previous school-high mark of five points in a game.

Ross currently has 11 goals, six assists, and 17 points on the season.

Senior captain White is a the point guard on a Hilltopper Boys Varsity Basketball Team that is currently 8-5 on the season.

He is a three-year starter, two-year captain, and the indisputable team leader on and off the floor. “Wayne has played through injury and illness this year in order to help his team succeed. He is the team leader in assists, and third-leading rebounder,“ said Summit Head Coach Dan Healy.
