Icisys Sadler Earns Double Gold, Max Russo Takes 1,000 Meters as Summit H.S. Track Excels at Cliff Back Meet

MADISON, NJ - Icisys Sadler beat all competition in both the 55-meter dash and 55-meter hurdles, bringing home two gold medals at the Cliff Back Invitational at Drew University. Sadler was joined by Summit High School Track and Field teammate Max Russo in the podium-topper category, when he won the 1,000 meters with a personal best time of 2:47.11.

Sadler ran a NJ#4-tying time of 8.42 in the hurdles and a personal best 7.47 in the sprint, Summit's Sara Peñuela finished fourth in the 55-meter dash with a personal best of 7.75.

Kerry Kovar with a personal best of 4' 10" in the high jump - good for fifth place.

Cole Schneider finishing sixth with a personal best of 8.33 in the 55-meter high hurdles.

Will Lusty in fourth place with a personal best 2:49.91 in the 1,000 meters.

Gianna Gutilla with a personal best of 3:20.31 and a sixth place finish in the 1,000 meters.

Griffin Drake -- Silver Medal -- with a personal best high jump of 5' 10".

Dorian 'DJ' Jackson - finishing is sixth place with a high jump of 5' 06" -- the meet marking Jackson's first competitive athletic event since suffering a serious leg injury while playing for the Hilltopper Varsity Football Team.

Bronze Medal -- for the 4 x 400-meter team of Sam Kohaut, Sam Malnati, Jacob Pantoya and Jack Bunting with a time of 3:38.66.

Jake Pantoya -- Bronze Medal -- with a personal best 2:04.75 in the 800-meter run.

Sophia Piron, Sara Peñuela, Mariana Peñuela and Iria Diaz clocking a season best time of 3:38.66 and finishing fourth in the 4 x 400 Relay.

02/01/2018, 7:26 am - FD dispatched to Route 78 East Bound mile marker 47.2 for a reported motor vehicle accident with entrapment and injuries. On arrival both the Springfield and Summit Fire Departments set up for extrication. The vehicle was chocked to stabilize the vehicle. EMS performed patient care. A hose line was stretched for possible fire suppression by the Berkeley Heights FD.
