Bridges, founded in 1988, reaches out to the homeless in New York City, Newark, Irvington, and Summit each week. This year. Bridges Outreach commemorates and celebrates 30 years of helping neighbors in need who are homeless and food insecure and has -- over three decades -- delivered more than 100,000 meals and literally tons of clothing. In 2014, Bridges opened Project Connect in Newark to offer case management services that lead to better health, jobs, and housing. In just four years, the initiative has helped find permanent housing for more than 100 people who were previously homeless.
