SUMMIT, NJ - Work continues to upgrade the facilities at Tatlock Park's Investors Bank Field, with the previously announced grandstand and press box replacement project moving forward, and new, protective netting in the process of being installed on the perimeter of the turf field.

Weather permitting, lacrosse safety netting is expected to be ready for use by February 24. Also needing cooperation from 'Mother Nature' is the application of an anti-static treatment to the playing field, which is designed to maximize the field's ability to absorb water and create a continuous playable condition.

The grandstand and press box replacement project has passed the demolition phase and now will involve site work and include the installation of concrete footings. The new grandstands and press box are being manufactured by Texas-based Southern Bleacher Company, with delivery of the new press box, foot and seat boards is expected on March 20.

Once the press box and bleachers are installed, a new sound system will be connected. Completed sections of the bleachers will be opened for use once inspected. The project is anticipated to be completed in time for Summit High School graduation ceremonies in June. The Union County Park & Recreation Department is providing a portable bleacher for use at the field for the duration of the construction project.
