Swimmers ages 3+ can improve their skills this summer with The Connection’s iSwim Program. Starting June 23rd, children can participate in weekly afternoon lessons to help them become better swimmers and safely enjoy the water this summer! Registration for the Summer Session begins Thursday, June 12th at 10:00am.

The Connection’s “iSwim” summer swim lesson program perfectly fits into busy summer schedules. Lessons are offered Monday through Friday in weekly increments for eight weeks. Parents can choose the week or weeks that work best for them. Enjoy small, age appropriate classes for all skill levels. Swimming everyday will help children retain and develop skills.

3-5 year olds will learn basic front/back skills including arm and leg actions, floating and gliding. Safety in and around the water, plus shallow and deep water will be explored in the 30 minute lesson.

5-8 year old beginners will receive an introduction to the water and safety skills. Basic introductory skills are taught in both shallow and deep water for those who are just starting to swim in this 45 minute lesson. Independent swimmers ages 6+ will work on improving technique, endurance and diving plus an introduction to swim turns in a 45 minute lesson. All students must be able to swim the full length of the pool independently.

Children 8+ will improve their timing and technique and keep in shape over the summer to prep for swim team. Each week focuses on a different stroke/technique in this 1 hour long class for advanced swimmers capable of swimming all 4 competitive strokes.

Extra Time

It was close to 70 minutes into the match and I had to go to the bathroom.  Badly.

As fans watching the World Cup know too well, bathroom breaks are a serious dilemma, especially for those who don’t have a TV in the loo.  This biological necessity is exasperated by beer, which during World Cup matches also fuels a strong propensity to throw chairs and instigate riots.
