Teachers from Summit’s Jefferson School hold up their “Jeans Month” tags that they’re wearing throughout the month of January to show their support for the Jefferson School PTO. Each year the PTO donates a portion of their proceeds– approximately $1500 – to purchase classroom supplies for the teachers. The teachers make donations to replenish the PTO coffers, and as a “reward” get to wear jeans for a month. The jeans tags represent their participation and are a symbol of support for all the work and support the Jefferson School PTO provides the staff and students.
