SUMMIT, NJ - The deadline to register to vote in the upcoming June 6 Primary Election is May 16, with Summit residents able to register at the City Clerk’s office, located on the second floor of City Hall, at 512 Springfield Avenue. Residents must be registered to vote no less than 21 days in advance of an election to be eligible to vote.
To accommodate last-minute registrants, the City Clerk’s office has scheduled evening voter registration hours -- from 4:30 - 9 p.m. -- on May 16. Regular voter registration hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Citizens of the United States that are 18 years of age on or before the date of the election and residents of New Jersey and Union County for no less than 30 days are eligible to vote. Voter registration applications may be obtained by visiting .unioncountyvotes.com.
