SUMMIT, NJ - Lacrosse's Kaleigh Brennan and the Girls 4x100m Relay Team of Jackie Kohaut, Emma Osborne, Claudia Piron and Icisys Sadler have been honored as Summit High School Athletes of the Week, presented by TAPinto Summit, for the week ending June 4.

Each week throughout the school athletic year, an athlete or athletes will be honored for distinguishing themselves in the arena of competition, in the classroom, and for demonstrating exemplary, Hilltopper-caliber sportsmanship and leadership qualities.

According to Girls Varsity Head Coach Mike Walsh, Brennan "has been an indispensable part of our defensive unit this year." That group has allowed a scant 5.5 opposition goals per game. As a junior, Brennan has grown into a leadership role this season and often draws opposing teams' top attacker. As she has all season long, this past week Brennan led the Hilltoppers in caused turnovers, as they secured their fifth consecutive State Title and a spot in the Tournament of Champions.

Kohaut, Osborne, Piron and Sadler sounds like a law firm, but the reality is that they are the third fastest 4x100m relay team in the state, fastest in Union County, hold the school record -- set this season -- and have run the ninth fastest time ever in the state of New Jersey.

The quartet of speed burners finished second at the NJSIAA Group 3 Championships and now head to the Meet of Champions June 10 with the number-two seed in tow.
