SUMMIT, NJ - Girls Lacrosse Team member Katia Carnevale and Baseball's Greg Vlass have been honored as Summit High School Athletes of the Week, presented by TAPinto Summit, for the week ending April 30.

Each week throughout the school athletic year, an athlete or athletes will be honored for distinguishing themselves in the arena of competition, in the classroom, and for demonstrating exemplary, Hilltopper-caliber sportsmanship and leadership qualities.

In two games during the week, Carnevale had nine goals and two assists to help lead the team to the division title. The sophomore's breakout season has seen her score 19 goals in the Hilltoppers' past four games, bringing her season total to 39 tallies. "All season long, she has performed well and been the ultimate team player," said Head Coach Mike Walsh.

Vlass went 4 for 8 with two walks, five runs scored, and 4 RBIs during the week for the Summit 'Boys of Spring'. He is batting a robust .385 and has crossed home plate 14 this season. "Greg is a quiet leader for our team, always demonstrating great hustle and determination," said Head Coach Kevin Zaleski.
