SUMMIT, NJ - The Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team's Katia Carnevale and Baseball's Will Hellings have been selected as Summit High School Athletes of the Week, presented by TAPinto Summit, for the week ending April 15.

Each week throughout the school athletic year, an athlete or athletes will be honored for distinguishing themselves in the arena of competition, in the classroom, and for demonstrating exemplary, Hilltopper-caliber sportsmanship and leadership qualities.

Carnevale is taking her goal machine-like exploits to a different level, as the junior -- who scored 58 times last season -- has already blasted home 31 times this season through just seven games. She scored 11 goals during the week, and has not scored less than three goals in any game this season, with her to-date high-water mark tally being the seven scores she dropped on Northern Highlands on April 5.

In a 79-pitch effort during the week, Hellings threw six innings of six-hit, shutout ball in a 3-0 defeat to New Providence, and the sophomore was nothing short of spectacular on April 5, fanning 13 Vikings over six innings while allowing just two hits and no runs in Summit's 4-3 victory at Union Catholic.
