The Admission Office at Kent Place School, an independent, college-preparatory day school for girls and young women, with a co-ed Preschool, announces its Open House for prospective families interested in Preschool (Junior Pre-Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten), Primary School (Grades K-5), Middle School (Grades 6-8) or Upper School (Grades 9-12) on Sunday, November 9 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on the school’s campus.

Following a brief information session, attendees will tour the 26-acre campus and meet members of the faculty, administration and staff.

The Preschool at Kent Place is a Junior Pre-Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten program for boys and girls ages 3-5. Experienced and highly educated teachers; extremely low student to teacher ratios; state-of-the-art facilities and resources; and a curriculum focused on exploration, creativity and developmentally appropriate rigor are the hallmarks of The Preschool. Kent Place preschool children learn in an atmosphere of caring, trust and freedom in which each child can develop a positive self-image.

The Primary School provides a challenging and diverse academic program in a caring and supportive environment, in which children feel motivated to learn, take risks and ask questions.

The Middle School provides a developmentally appropriate and well-rounded education that nurtures and guides girls through their transition from childhood to adolescence, balancing their desire for increased challenge, independence and responsibility with their need for support and structure.

The Upper School’s academically rigorous college-preparatory curriculum has been designed to fulfill the admission requirements of the most competitive colleges and universities. Emphasis is on the development of strong writing and analytical skills within the framework of a comprehensive course of study in math, sciences, technology and the humanities, enriched with experiences in the fine arts and athletics.

A broad range of opportunities for leadership, social development and responsible citizenship is offered in all three divisions. Independent thinking and personal development are integral to the learning experience at Kent Place.

We are a school community with clearly defined scholastic, moral and behavioral standards, committed to a rigorous academic, creative and physical curriculum. Kent Place offers a multi-dimensional and comprehensive educational experience combining academic rigor with a richness of activities, athletics and community endeavors. Kent Place seeks motivated students who are eager to learn and take advantage of the many opportunities the school offers. We encourage applications from families of all racial, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. We value the wide range of interests and talents that all of our students bring to the school.

Applications for the 2015-2016 school year are now being accepted. For more information about Kent Place or the Open House programs, please contact the Admission Office at (908) 273-0900, ext. 254 or e-mail at admission@kentplace.org. A Royal Pain

I went to a big wedding over the weekend.  It was in England.

I like to think I was invited, but according to the Royal Guards and the Thames Valley Police I was not.  But more about that later.

You see, not too long ago I received an evite addressed to me from H&M@royalwedbot.co.uk.  Curiously, it was in my spam folder with a warning message. For an evite it was pretty ...
