Kids are Free for Summit Family Aquatic Center Birthday Bash

Shark Diddy, Summit Family Aquatic Center’s Mascot and Head Lifeguard celebrates his third birthday on Thursday, June 23, 2011 from 2-4 PM. A very friendly and helpful shark, he has taught kids how to behave at Summit’s Family Aquatic Center.  He has cheered on the Summit Sharks Swim Team and has been a popular visitor to special events and even City Hall. He attends the Sharkey Swim School Graduation, too. Now it’s time for the City’s kids to celebrate his third birthday and the 40th Anniversary of the facility. His birthday bash is one that you will not forget. Shark Diddy has invited all of his mascot friends from around the Garden State. Sparkee from the Somerset Patriots, Sparky the Fire Dog from the Summit Fire Department, Murtle the Turtle from Turtle Back Zoo, Billy the Bear from William Paterson University, Slider from Breakwater Beach Waterpark in Seaside Heights, Kingsly the Bear from Kings Supermarkets, the NJ Devil himself and his best buddy,McMuni the Scotty Dog from the Summit Municipal Golf Course. More mascots are responding with each passing day. Information tables will be available for each of the mascot’s attractions. He is an extremely likeable creature of the sea!

Like all birthday parties, there will be a Bouncy House,Games with Mr. Fun, DJ Dance Party with Summit Soundz, Carnival Games, the NJ Devils Street Team and the Shark Diddy Birthday Parade. Cupcakes will be served and photo ops with the characters will be available. The NJ Devils Street Team will be taking shots on goal and lots more devilish fun.

The event is free for members of the Family Aquatic Center. Kids without memberships are free for the Birthday Bash on June 23rd from 2-4 pm. Adults without memberships will pay the Daily Guest Rate of $8.00. The Summit Family Aquatic Center is located at 100 Ashwood Avenue, Summit, NJ.  For more information on this special event or for membership information you are asked to call the Summit Department of Community Programs at 908-277-2932.
