Kent Place School is pleased to announce that four Middle School students were recognized nationally for their scores on the American Mathematics Competition (AMC) 8. The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple-choice examination for Middle School mathematics students designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem-solving skills. The contest is held in November every year and scores were released in January.
The top scorers from Kent Place were:
Grade 6: Libby Benou, Alayo Oloko, Erin Roth, Rebeka Zambrano
Grade 7: Morgan Giardina, Kiley Parker
Grade 8: Tarika Bansal, Paige Galle, Sophie Gilbert, Sonali Soni
The top finisher for Kent Place was eighth grader Tarika Bansal, who was also recognized for scoring within the top five percent of all students taking the exam. Libby Benou, Alayo Oloko and Erin Roth’s scores placed them on the National Achievement Roll of all sixth graders who took the test.
