SUMMIT, NJ - La Bottega, an Italian trattoria with several locations in Long Island and one in Ridgewood, NJ is coming to Summit. In Italian, la bottega translates to “store or shop,” but the restaurant is more than just that.

According to their website, La Bottega “Is a cozy, intimate setting for family and friends with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes each and every guest feel right at home.”

“We are looking to open the first week of April,” said owner Frank DiMaiuta. “We are just waiting for some permits.”

La Bottega will serve a plethora of paninis but that’s not all. Aside from their 60 varieties of the panini, they offer a core menu of soup, salad and Italian dishes. The menu includes gluten-free options.

Desserts include traditional Italian and American cakes and delicacies. The restaurant is BYOB.

“The concept was built on paninis done a lot different than normal,” said DiMaiuta. “Ours are done with specialty baked Italian bread, its pure culture, the style of a panini.”

There will be a grand opening approximately a month after La Bottega has been opened. Teaming up with the Summit Chamber of Commerce, the restaurant will offer served tastings.

“We are excited about opening,” said DiMaiuta. “It has been a great success in Ridgewood.”

DiMaiuta says they’re focusing on Summit’s new restaurant but also thinking about expanding. Among the brainstormed locations is Montclair and possibly further south.
