Summit Fire Department is advising residents to turn off all heat-producing appliances to eliminate fire hazards when power is restored. This includes ovens, stove stops, irons and small appliances used for hair styling. Turning-off air conditioners, washers and dryers will prevent them from coming on unexpectedly when power comes back on.

The outdoor charging station in the Broad Street east parking lot and the indoor charging station at the Summit Community Center on 100 Morris Ave. will be open on the weekend from 8:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. (outdoor charging station in the Broad Street east lot) and 12 - 9 p.m. Saturday (indoor charging station at the Community Center).
