Seventeen Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School students from teacher Mary Lockshin's French class, Tim Margiotta's Spanish class, Melissa Sarracino's Spanish class, and Lucinda Jaffe's Latin class presented a series of world language puppet shows at Washington School on February 23.
Ten different classes from grade 1 through grade 5 attended the shows, which were held in the art room. Each language group presented an entertaining and engaging show for the elementary students highlighting French, Spanish. and Latin language and culture.
Washington School Principal Lauren Banker welcomed the middle school student performers. and Ana Ventoso, Spanish teacher, sponsored and helped organize the event. Middle school students enjoyed a pizza lunch and engaged the elementary students in meaningful interaction in a variety of world languages.
