As a candidate I want to put Summit’s parking situation right at the top of the agenda. Having operated a small, local business in the heart of our great City for 22 years, I know firsthand the travails of the local retailers, in many cases due to the actual and perceived lack of parking in the downtown area
While data, not anecdotes, should always drive decisions, it pains me to hear neighbors say I would love to visit West Elm or enjoy lunch downtown, but I just can’t deal with the lack of parking. Now that Summit is lucky enough to have a new restaurant opening, the 150-seat Summit House, the problem will only get worse.
I pledge if elected as Councilman At Large to work in a collaborative fashion with our many stakeholders on improving parking downtown.
