Local Libations: Office Tavern Grill, Piattino Celebrate The Waning Days of Summer in Summit

From left, the 'Alto Adige Spritz' and the 'Foamy Manhattan'.

SUMMIT, NJ - Summer. It is Mother Nature's ultimate 'limited time offer', presenting hot days, warm nights, and myriad opportunities for outdoor fun and frolic.

Two of Summit's most lauded gastronomic destinations -- The Office Tavern Grill and Piattino: A Neighborhood Bistro -- are taking advantage of the dwindling days of summer and ramping up a slew of hand-crafted cocktails that are ideal ways to celebrate the final days of the season.

Among the local libations:

  • Alto Adige Spritz at Piattino: A Neighborhood Bistro -- The Alto Adige Spritz is a light, fresh Prosecco cocktail, made with Elderflower Liquor, simple syrup, mint and lime muddled to perfection.
  • Foamy Manhattan at The Office Tavern Grill -- A modern twist on a classic cocktail, the Foamy Manhattan is made with Rye, Carpano Antica Formula and angostura, and is topped with our signature foam and garnished with candied bacon.

Both The Office Tavern Grill and Piattino: A Neighborhood Bistro are owned and operated by Morristown-based 40NORTH Restaurants, and located right next to each other at 61 and 67 Union Place, respectively. The Office Tavern Grill serves unique modern takes on classic American comfort food, while Piattino:A Neighborhood Bistro offers up Italian fare with a modern twist.
