SUMMIT, NJ - Adam Fern, who enjoyed a 35-year career teaching and coaching at Summit High School, has been named as the recipient of the Summit Police Athletic League (PAL) 2018 Outstanding Service Award. Fern, who received the award at the recent PAL Golf Classic, served as the liaison to the PAL Scholarship Fund, which awards academic scholarships in the Spring of each year to Summit High School seniors who are continuing onto college.

The scholarships are awarded based on a number of considerations, including academic record, extracurricular activities, leadership, civic involvement and financial need. Through the support of donors and supporters, in 2018, the Summit PAL awarded a total of $25,000 in scholarships to deserving Summit High School seniors.

Summit PAL President Charlie Robertson said, “Adam Fern has been instrumental over the years in coordinating the Summit PAL scholarship process at Summit High School.  His time and effort were greatly valued and helped so many seniors in their efforts to go to college.”
