I am writing to you about the upcoming town elections. I’m endorsing Marjorie Fox for the Ward 2 Seat on Summit’s Common Council. I’ve known and admired Marjorie for 8 years, meeting her when our younger boys were in cub scouts together at Franklin school. She’s a hard worker and very grounded, and I believe that Summit needs someone like her on Common Council.

Marjorie has been a volunteer on Summit’s city commissions for twelve years, freely sharing her expertise, especially with regard to environmental issues. Her background as an attorney for New York City gives her experience in governmental issues.

Her history of volunteering her time to numerous causes and organizations, from school libraries, to Summit’s Earth Day clean-up (which she founded 11 years ago), shows her dedication to giving back, especially to the Summit community.

However, what I admire most about Marjorie, and what makes her especially well qualified to represent us on Common Council, is her ability and determination to thoroughly research issues and spend time getting familiar with all the details, however minute.  She’s extremely bright, and with her willingness to spend whatever time is necessary to find solutions and make well-informed decisions, will serve us all well.

I fervently believe that she is uniquely qualified for the position. Frankly, we’d all be lucky to have her as our Ward 2 representative. I hope you’ll join me to elect Marjorie Fox for Common Council on November 7th.
