Council president Rich Madden (left) thanks EVP Rick DeLuca for moving 65 jobs here from overseas, making Summit his global HQ for animal-health products.  This line of business  generated $3.3 billion sales last year, accounting for 11% of gross corporate revenue.  Merck is Summit's second largest employer (behind Overlook Hospital), with 1,900 workers at its 89 acre campus on Morris Avenue.  A new red light at Passaic Ave side entrance has improved traffic egress.  $11 million additional capital investments are slated this year.
