SUMMIT, NJ - A major traffic artery -- Morris Avenue, between Kent Place Boulevard and River Road -- will be shuttered for four nights, beginning July 17 at 8 p.m. each night until 6 a.m. the following morning, due to milling, paving and striping of the road.

According to the Union County Bureau of Traffic, Safety & Maintenance, a clearly marked detour route will be established and maintained by County forces. Emergency vehicles will be allowed through at all times. Access to residences, including deliveries and other services, in the work zone will be allowed as much as possible.

Individuals with traffic-related questions are instructed to call the Traffic Bureau at 908-789-6011 during normal business hours. If any emergencies should arise, residents are directed to contact the Summit Police Department.

The project's timeline is weather permitting, with updates available by visiting ucnj.org/traffic/projects/summit.
